RSS means "Really Simple Syndication". RSS is a way to syndicate content and deliver notification of updates. In short, RSS is an easy way for you to know when updates have been made to a website you're interested in.

The technology behind RSS allows you to subscribe to websites that have provided RSS feeds, these are typically sites that change or add content regularly. To use this technology you need to set up a news aggregator (many options available online). Think of this aggregator as your personal mailbox. You then subscribe to the sites that you want to get updates on - creating your very own personal newspaper with the content you're interested in.
