Letter From The President

Greg Hanson

Dear Friends,

This time of year is a good reminder of our legacy, as we clear the decks for the incoming fruit and vegetable harvests. The days of Southern Cold Storage, then Hanson Cold Storage, were deeply rooted in service to the growers of Michigan and Indiana. This important segment of our business is now balanced by our broadened service offering in consolidation and distribution, including transportation. That does not diminish our commitment to the grower community — we handle more than 10% of the blueberries produced in the U.S. and are developing unique solutions to the freezing, storage and distribution of these products.

Please join me in welcoming Matt Luckas to the Hanson Logistics team. As you’ll read elsewhere in this newsletter, Matt’s credentials and experience makes him a great fit with our organizations, and he comes naturally with the all important ‘Yes, We Can!’ attitude.

Phase One of our Chicago Consolidation Center is at capacity; a milestone that occurred slightly ahead of schedule, and gives us the confidence to begin Phase 2 pre-construction planning. We’ll keep you posted on our progress.

On behalf of all Hanson Logistics teammates, we wish you a safe and enjoyable summer.

Sincerely,

Gregory P. Hanson
President & CEO
